A Windsor manufacturer is looking to build an outdoor storage area to accommodate his growing business.
Joseph W. Novak, principal of Ezra Silva Lane LLC, has applied to the town Planning and Zoning Commission to build a 7,200-square-foot outdoor concrete storage pad for containers for All Crate Inc.
The special use will allow All Crate “to meet and maintain growing business demand,” the applicant said.
The All Crate plant is 63,000 square feet on 12.5 acres at 60 Ezra Silva Lane in Windsor’s industrial zone.
All Crate started in 1992, making custom wood crates with one employee in a small facility, according to the company’s website.
The company has since grown, with 20 employees and an expanded building where they manufacture custom wooden crates, pallets and skids.
All Crate partners with local manufacturing and service firms that specialize in aerospace equipment, windows, electronics, and healthcare products, and provide services to freight forwarding companies and private individuals, according to the website.
The industrial zone is located off Interstate 91 and near Bradley International Airport and multiple trucking depots, which aid in product transportation.
The property is also host to tenant New England Metal Finishing and Precision Finishing Services.
