Alexion Pharmaceuticals says the U.S. Green Building Council has assigned its highest level of green building certification to the rare disease drugmaker’s New Haven headquarters.
The College Street headquarters, fully occupied last year after a move from Cheshire, is one of fewer than 15 buildings in the state to earn “LEED Platinum” for commercial interiors, the company said.
The headquarters sources half its energy from renewables, has a green rooftop, water-saving fixtures, and materials such as paints and adhesives that provide increased air quality for building occupants.
