Albertus Magnus College’s Board of Trustees recently approved extending President Marc M. Camille’s contract for the next five years.
Camille, the institution’s 14th president, started in the role in 2017, and the contract extension lasts through 2026.
Board Chairman Vincent Petrini said in a letter to the college community that Camille has “demonstrated extraordinary leadership,” during his initial five years.
The board noted several of Camille’s accomplishments in announcing the decision.
During his tenure, Albertus has launched a plan for growth, dubbed, “Albertus 2025: Lighting the Way to a Second Century.”
Enrollment is up, with applications for the first-year class increasing by more than 75 percent since Camille started. The current 2021-2022 traditional undergraduate enrollment of 610 is the largest in Albertus’ 96-year history, up 37% since 2017.
Camille also helped the college secure federal grants totaling more than $2.6 million, and annual giving contributions are up by 123%, according to Albertus.
Campus upgrades during Camille’s tenure include solar panel installations, the purchase of apartment buildings to accommodate increased enrollments and the $14 million renovation of the Hubert Campus Center.
