New Haven-based Albertus Magnus College celebrated its 100th anniversary on Saturday in part by kicking off a new $40 million fundraising campaign.
Called “Forever Albertus: The Centennial Campaign,” it has been labeled by school officials as the “most ambitious fundraising initiative in the college’s history.”
During an event Saturday evening at the New Haven Country Club that was attended by 160 people, including alumni, supporters and community leaders, Albertus President Marc M. Camille announced that the college has already raised more than $25 million.
The campaign has three priorities:
- Expanding scholarships and building a strong endowment to secure the college’s future.
- Investing in academics, career readiness, athletics and programs that prepare students to lead and thrive, and
- Modernizing and expanding campus facilities while honoring the college’s history and natural beauty.
“Forever Albertus is a commitment to sustaining and expanding the resources that empower our students, faculty, and staff — strengthening the foundation that has transformed lives for a century and will continue to do so for another 100 years and beyond,” Camille said.
