Bradley International Airport officials have issued a warning about what to expect in the very heavy travel period this week because of the holiday season.
Planning for it is essential, Connecticut Airport Authority Executive Director Kevin Dillon said.
“The key is to give yourself extra travel time and to plan ahead,” Dillon said. “Our dedicated airport team will do everything we can to make your travel through the airport as hassle-free as possible.”
Passengers traveling domestically are advised to allow themselves at least 90 minutes for check-in with their respective airlines and processing through the Transportation Security Administration screening checkpoints.
Those traveling internationally should arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure.
Here are some additional tips for passengers navigating their way in this peak travel period:
• Check and confirm the status of your flight with your airline prior to your departure for the airport.

• Speed up the screening process by reviewing the TSA screening guidelines ahead of time. For TSA travel tips visit the TSA’s blog
