Waterford medical-industrial air gas distributor ABCO has been acquired by industry giant Airgas Inc., authorities say.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
According to Zacks Equity Research, ABCO’s distribution of oxygen and other purified gases to hospitals and pharmaceutical firms, along with welding and industrial gases for shipyards, steelmakers and defense contractors, fits with Airgas’ industry profile.
Founded in 1921, once privately held ABCO has 12 retail stores, a fill plant and an equipment service center in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and England. Â It employs more than 100 employees.
