State officials say Ace Oil Co. in Meriden has closed its doors, and any customers with open orders should contact the consumer protection department.
“My office is working closely with DCP, and we have been in contact with representatives of the company,” Attorney General George Jepsen said in a statement. “While we are reviewing the situation, Ace Oil customers should take steps to find an alternate supplier to fulfill their heating oil needs and can contact DCP to file a complaint.”
Customers who have prepaid can access a complaint form online or call 1-800-842-2649.
Customers who prepaid with a credit card should also contact their card company to dispute payment of the balance owed, officials said.
