An affiliate of an East Lyme contract manufacturing company has purchased an industrial property in Old Saybrook for $1.75 million, reflecting continued demand for limited industrial space in Connecticut.
In a deed recorded March 31, EAK Holding Co. acquired a 31,414-square-foot building at 35 Research Parkway from Stark Properties LLC. The metal-sided structure, built in 1975, sits on 2.9 acres.
The seller’s principal is Jill Coan, of Westbrook. The buyer’s principal, Richard Connelly of Madison, declined to comment.
Connelly is president of R-D Manufacturing Inc., an East Lyme-based contract manufacturer, according to prior testimony he submitted to the General Assembly.
The property previously housed climate technology startup BlueSky Carbon Inc.
Bob Cancelmo, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England, marketed the property and said 17 viable buyers emerged after it was listed late last year. He credited Connecticut’s tight inventory of industrial buildings for the intense interest, as well as the property’s location near the shoreline.
Ryan Connelly, of Coldwell Banker Realty, represented the buyer.
