Hartford health insurer Aetna Inc. signed a new pact that keeps in its services fold more than 700 physicians affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center.
The agreement, terms of which weren’t disclosed, adds SUNY Downstate, plus retains participation of the University Hospital of Brooklyn’s recently acquired Long Island College Hospital campus, authorities say.
Under the agreement, SUNY-Brooklyn will participate for all Aetna commercial and Medicare products, including student health plans.
Groups included in the contract are: University Hospital of Brooklyn; University Physicians of Brooklyn P.C.; and Brooklyn Anesthesia Research.
