Aetna Inc. Chief Executive Ronald A. Williams took home $3.14 million in base pay, bonus and other cash compensation in 2008, just slightly greater than a year earlier, according to company proxy filings.
In 2007, Williams’ cash compensation totaled $3.1 million, filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission show.
Mark T. Bertolini, president of the Hartford-based health services company, had salary, bonus and other cash pay totaling $2.4 million in 2008, up from $1.6 million in 2007.
Both executives also collected millions more apiece in stock, options and deferred compensation, papers show.
