Hartford managed care provider Aetna Inc. completed its $70 million buyout of Horizon Behavioral Services LLC, a major provider of employee assistance programs to many mid-sized and large employers.
The business now will be part of Aetna Behavioral Health. Aetna announced the deal July 31.
Texas-based Horizon serves approximately 1,400 public and private employers with more than 5 million covered employees worldwide.
The company provides round-the-clock confidential phone and online consultations and referrals to more than 14,000 licensed clinicians.
