Hartford insurer Aetna said it has appointed former U.S. Sen. Olympia J. Snowe to its board of directors.
Snowe, a Republican senator in Maine for three terms, announced her retirement in 2012. Prior to that, she served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 16 years. She runs her own policy and communications consulting firm, is a board member at T. Rowe Price Group, and a senior fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center.
Her appointment brings Aetna’s board to 13 members.
