As technology has evolved, how have you made your Web site more user friendly for customers to do business with you?
We have applied Web-based processes to replace our clients’ time-sensitive and labor-intensive interaction normally handled by phone, fax, or in person. Our clients enjoy having the ability to report meter readings, order supplies, place service requests, and request support at their convenience.
How has Web-based communications changed the way you communicate with your employees?
Our employees use state of the art Web-based tools that allow them complete access to customer information and history from any location. Our service and IT technicians can process parts orders, supply software upgrades and have access to all repair and operation manuals and bulletins at each client’s location. Everything from dispatching to closing calls to weather and traffic reports is communicated quickly and efficiently.
What is the Web technology level of expectation of your customers or clients and how have you met them?
We have seen our clients expectation levels rise rapidly just over the past few years. As efficiency and productivity demands continue to increase within every organization, the ability to provide as-needed access to information and services becomes more critical. We have raised our own bar in every aspect of customer service so our clients now expect these service levels as the norm. The ability to provide instant access to whatever information a client wants, either remotely or in a face-to-face meeting is now expected from a growing number of our clients.
Is e-advertising something you presently use for your business or see your company using in the future?
We have used e-advertising and plan to continue in the future. Because we are low key and very protective of our reputation and integrity, we tend to be very selective with all of our advertising. Our advertising must not be intrusive. It must provide a valuable informative message. And we will never advertise promises that we cannot keep or distort messages for the sake of a sale. These parameters pose an additional challenge when using e-advertising.
Do you blog or use any social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) presently, and do you see any useful business applications for your company?
We work exclusively in the business-to-business environment and have not found a need to use social sites collectively as a company. Several employees have affiliations with networking groups that have proven to be beneficial in many different areas of contribution to our organization overall.
