AdvanceCT, the state’s nonprofit business support and recruitment arm, today announced a leadership change for later this year, with current President John Bourdeaux taking over for CEO Peter Denious.
AdvanceCT said Bourdeaux, who is also director of business development, will take over for Denious effective Sept. 30, after the group’s board of directors unanimously approved the leadership transition plan during its June 14 meeting.
After he steps down, Denious will remain with AdvanceCT as a part-time advisor for the rest of 2023.
According to the nonprofit, Denious was appointed president and CEO of AdvanceCT in Aug. 2019, to help with the organization’s transition from the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC) into what the nonprofit has become.
The official rebranding of AdvanceCT came a year after Gov. Ned Lamont announced that the state Department of Economic and Community Development and CERC forged a new public-private partnership to make the nonprofit Connecticut’s recruitment arm focused on researching ways to support, retain and recruit businesses to the area.
