Adult-use cannabis transaction limit increased

Recreational cannabis users in Connecticut will now be able to purchase more from adult-use dispensaries during any single visit, according to a new update from the state Department of Consumer Protection.

Beginning Dec. 1, cannabis business transaction limits will be increased to a half-ounce of raw flower, or the equivalent, per visit. That’s double the current limit of a quarter-ounce of raw flower per visit. DCP said the change was made based on its “ongoing analysis of available supply and demand.”

Limits will continue to be reviewed and updated over time, DCP said. The change doesn’t impact medical marijuana program patients, who can purchase up to five ounces of raw flower a month without individual transaction limits.

Connecticut’s adult-use cannabis program launched Jan. 10. As of Oct. 10, recreational cannabis sales had exceeded $97 million through nine months.
