A week after the launch of Connecticut’s adult-use cannabis market, the state Department of Consumer Protection, which regulates the industry, said dispensaries had reached $2 million in sales.
The $2-million mark was met on Jan. 17, exactly a week after retail sales began to customers 21 and older.
The highest gross was on the market’s opening day, Jan. 10, with $359,099 in sales. A total of 8,154 cannabis items were sold, with an average price of $44 each.
Sales remained above $200,000 for the rest of the week, but did not eclipse $300,000 again until Saturday, Jan. 14 – the day with the second-highest gross since the market launched.

Purchases dropped this week, with less than $200,000 in gross sales each day between Sunday and Tuesday.
By the end of Tuesday, total adult-use cannabis sales stood at $$2,020,358, with 45,667 “units” sold at an average price of $44.24.
