Payroll processor ADP said this week that Connecticut’s private sector added more jobs than Massachusetts in May.
Connecticut added 2,800 private sector jobs, which was just shy of two-tenths of one percent growth. That was above ADP’s measure for the Bay State, which it said added 2,400.
Official government unemployment numbers for May are set to be released June 18, according to the state Department of Labor.
The government uses survey data to calculate its employment reports, while ADP uses its clients’ anonymous payroll data, covering nearly 24 million U.S. workers.
