ADP: CT adds 2,120 jobs in September

Connecticut added 2,120 jobs in September, according to private employment tracker ADP.

The gain represents growth of 0.15 percent for the state.

The state report follows ADP’s national employment report, which said the country gained 166,000 jobs last month. The firm uses payroll data to calculate job creation estimates, which it usually issues two days prior to the federal government’s own estimates each month.

The federal jobs report for September was scheduled to come out Oct. 4, but was delayed because of the federal budget shutdown, which impacted the U.S. Labor Department. That delay also impacts the official government numbers for Connecticut labor gains or losses.
