Acura of Avon completes $2M renovation

The Lorensen Auto Group, which owns and operates seven Connecticut car dealerships, has completed a $2-million renovation at its Acura of Avon location in Canton.

General Manager Ron DaSilva said the family owned group expanded the two-foor, 20,000-square-foot dealership at 75 Albany Turnpike with a new service center for customers. The indoor bay, he said, is air conditioned and heated for customers to wait while their cars are being serviced.

Additionally, DaSilva said improvements to the 30-year-old Acura dealership include upgrades to the showroom, waiting areas, a cafe and second floor offices for staff.

The renovation project started in late 2019 and was completed this summer, he said.

“It’s made for a relaxed atmosphere for our clients,” DaSilva said. “That’s what our customers asked for — an open, airy and friendly space.”

In total, the Lorensen Auto Group employs more than 600 full- and part-time workers at Acura of Avon, Honda of Watertown, Westbrook Honda, Acura of Milford, Old Saybrook Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, Old Saybrook Hyundai, and Westbrook Toyota.
