Active 1Q for Greater Hartford VC deals

The Greater Hartford region was active in first-quarter venture capital deals, with companies here booking half of the overall Connecticut investment deals and 27 percent of the total dollars.

That’s according to data from the latest PwC/CB Insights MoneyTree Report, which detailed 10 VC deals across the state between January and March, worth a total of $88 million — the biggest first quarter in Connecticut since 2014.

The figures included five Greater Hartford companies doing deals worth a total of $24 million.

East Windsor-based information security and cyber consulting provider Foresite MSP and Farmington-based medical data analytics firm Diameter Health each took in $10 million during the quarter.

Meanwhile, Cromwell fintech Payveris took in $6 million, and Torigen Pharmaceuticals and Azitra, both based in Farmington, took in $5 million and $3 million, respectively, during the quarter, according to the report.

Across the state, the largest deal was claimed by West Haven software maker Device42, which raised $34 million. The Connecticut Technology Council last year named Device42 the fastest-growing Connecticut tech company.
