Fairfield’s Acme United Corp. said it has purchased a 340,000-square-foot manufacturing, distribution and office facility in North Carolina for $2.8 million.
The property — previously owned by a company going through Chapter 7 bankruptcy — is assessed at $5.9 million and has an estimated replacement cost of $13.5 million, Acme said in a statement.
Acme, which supplies cutting, measuring and safety products, expects to invest $500,000 in upgrades to the facility and equipment, and to incur about $300,000 in one-time costs.
