• The Maximilian E. & Marion O. Hoffman Foundation donated $75,000 to the Charter Oak chapter of the American Red Cross in Farmington in support of local disaster relief work and assistance services. This is the largest donation for this type of assistance in the history of the chapter.
• Ronald McDonald House Charities awarded $5,000 to The Bridge Family Center Inc. in West Hartford to provide recreational outings and activities. It also donated $5,000 to Hartford’s Camp Courant in Farmington to complete the playground improvement project. Main Street Singers in New Britain received $3,000 to counter music and scholarship expenses. The Rushford Center in Middletown also received $4,821 for programs in Meriden.
• Community Health Resources, with locations in Enfield, Windsor and Coventry, received a $1,000 donation from St. Germain Investment Management for its Back-to-School drive. The donation will benefit children living in the organization’s four residential facilities.
