Access Health reaching out to newly naturalized

Access Health CT representatives have begun attending federal naturalization ceremonies to provide information about available healthcare plan options from the state-based exchange.

Access Health said it’s currently the only exchange implementing this technique for reaching the uninsured.

“Once again, Connecticut is leading the nation in finding innovative ways to reach the uninsured,” said Jim Wadleigh, Access Health CT CEO. “We’ve opened storefronts, we’ve handed out information at events, and we’ve partnered with hundreds of community organizations all in an effort to find those hard-to-reach populations who would benefit from healthcare coverage.”

Naturalization ceremonies are held approximately four times a month at United States District Courts in Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport during which individuals are officially sworn in as U.S. citizens. Over 15,000 people become citizens annually in Connecticut.
