David Christie is senior vice president and CFO of Southington financial technology services provider COCC. He oversees the financial, administrative, and human resources activities at the organization, guiding COCC’s finances through a strong growth period with minimal additions to staff and careful scrutiny of company expenses.
Christie began his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP and served as the chief financial officer for a manufacturing company and as a partner in the public accounting firm UHY LLC. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is the former president of the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut. He won Hartford Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award in 2013.
Callie and Rory Gale co-founded Hartford Prints!, a letterpress studio and stationery store. The duo and their third sister, Addy, make paper in their home city of Hartford. Their letterpress stationery products range from wedding invitations to offbeat greeting cards to urban apparel.
With the opening of their retail store in downtown Hartford, Hartford Prints! embraces the idea that a company can both make and do good things.
The store strives to be an active space, using the power of the press to create positive vibes about local community. Hartford Prints! was honored as one of the winners of Hartford Business Journal’s 2014 Connecticut Family Business Awards.
Kristina Newman-Scott is the director of marketing, events, and cultural affairs for the city of Hartford. Newman-Scott held the position of director of visual arts at Real Art Ways in Hartford from 2005-2010.
Before returning to Hartford she was the director of programs at the Boston Center for the Arts from 2011-2012. Newman-Scott was recently selected as a creative community fellow by National Arts Strategies.
She has been a panelist, visiting curator, and guest lecturer at numerous organizations/institutions across the country including the School of Visual Arts in New York, Rhode Island School of Design, and Wesleyan University in Middletown.
She serves on the board of TheaterWorks, The Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and the Aurora Foundation for Women and Girls. Newman-Scott sees her role in Hartford as an opportunity to curate the Capital City.
