A GIFT FROM THE HEART

A local man who recently underwent a quadruple bypass surgery to repair his heart gave back in honor of those who cared for him. Dan J. Ferraina, a real estate developer from Windsor, has presented the Hartford Hospital emergency department with a gift of $130,000. Ferraina’s donation will enable the hospital to purchase flat screen televisions for each patient room within the emergency department. This gift — intended to provide a comforting, familiar distraction for patients experiencing emergencies — was given in honor of staff members who treated him during his recent hospital stay.
