The Navy plans a new, $8 million office-boat maintenance facility to consolidate port operations at its Groton submarine base.
The Navy has contracted with Suffolk Construction Co. Inc. of Boston to erect the 13,498-square-foot Waterfront Operations Small Craft building that will house administrative offices, classrooms, two high bays for boat maintenance and a painting booth.
Work will begin in February to open the facility in March 2011.
