Eighty percent of Americans are worried about identity theft and 25 percent of those alarmed by it consider leaks from businesses as their primary concern, according to a poll by Bankrate Inc.
Of those polled, 77 percent have Internet access, but 36 percent say they try to protect themselves from fraud by not shopping on the Internet and nearly half avoid online banking.  Â
