Connecticut has 40 companies on this year’s Inc. 5000, including one that grew revenue nearly 10,000% over three years, landing it among the 20 fastest-growing companies in the country, according to the list released Tuesday.
Telyon, an Old Saybrook clean energy developer, ranks No. 20 nationally with 9,863% three-year growth — significantly higher than last year, when it placed No. 3,225 on the list.
The annual ranking, compiled by Inc. magazine, is based on percentage revenue growth from 2022 to 2025.
Telyon designs, builds, owns and operates solar and battery systems for commercial customers, who pay no upfront cost and instead buy the power at a discount to grid rates. The company told Inc. it earned more than $51 million in revenue last year, up from about $520,000 in 2022, and that it now employs about 50 people and counts Amazon, Target and the parent company of Stop & Shop among its customers.
Telyon’s founder and CEO, Andrew Chester, also helped build Middletown’s Greenskies Renewable Energy, which sold for nine-figures in 2017. He launched Telyon in March 2020 with a capital commitment from Goldman Sachs, closing the deal days before the pandemic shut down the country.
Connecticut’s second-fastest-growing company is AmeriTech Contracting, a service-disabled veteran-owned federal construction contractor that ranks No. 367 nationally with 956% growth.
HBJ profiled the company in March, when CEO Andrew DiSilvestro Jr. described growing it from about $1 million in annual revenue and a single employee in 2022 to 85 employees working in 22 states. Its projects include a $23 million pharmacy addition at the West Haven VA Medical Center.
Inc. lists the company in Berlin, though it is moving to a 51,750-square-foot building it bought in Meriden.
Axe Elite, a Wethersfield advertising, marketing and PR firm, ranks third in the state. It placed No. 691 nationally with 500% growth, in its third straight year on the list.

Global Medical Virtual Assistants, a West Hartford company that embeds trained administrative staff into hospitals, medical groups and health systems to handle patient access, prior authorization and revenue cycle work, ranks sixth in the state and No. 971 nationally with 355% growth. It’s the company’s second straight year on the list.
Budderfly, the Shelton energy-as-a-service company, is seventh with 349% growth and a national rank of No. 999, up from No. 1,050 a year ago. The company, founded by serial entrepreneur Al Subbloie, installs and manages efficiency upgrades for restaurants, retailers and manufacturers at no upfront cost.
Constitution Lending, a Greenwich hard-money real estate lender and distressed debt buyer, ranks eighth in Connecticut and No. 1,283 nationally with 274% growth. Founded in 2018 by three former bankers, the firm has originated more than $300 million in loans to real estate investors.

Rounding out the state’s top 10 is Brand to Experience, a Stamford experiential marketing and event agency at No. 1,461 with 242% growth.
Several other familiar Connecticut names appear further down. Command Holdings, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s non-gaming government services arm, ranks No. 1,921 with 178% growth.
Three law firms made the cut: Dolan Divorce Lawyers of New Haven, The Flood Law Firm of Middletown and Freed Marcroft of Hartford — the only business in the state capital on the list.
Three Connecticut advertising and marketing firms also earned spots on the list, along with four IT services companies, two healthcare companies, two telecommunications firms, two manufacturers, two construction companies and two government services contractors.
New Haven, with four companies on the list, has more than any other city or town.
