29th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast held

More than 600 people gathered on Martin Luther King Day for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Hartford Alumnae Chapter’s 29th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast at the Connecticut Convention Center. The event is the sorority’s major scholarship fundraiser, which has awarded more than $200,000 in renewable scholarships to Greater Hartford female high school seniors. Pictured, from left, are: scholarship recipient Daniella Arthurs, a graduate of Weaver High School now attending CCSU; scholarship recipient Kayla Smith, a graduate of Windsor High School now attending Amherst College; keynote speaker Dr. Paulette Walker, national president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; Dantaya Williams, director of workforce diversity for United Technologies; and Veronica DeLandro, president of the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.
