Eleven Connecticut arts organizations will share $290,000 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the state’s U.S. congressional delegation announced Tuesday.
Of the total, $55,000 is headed for Greater Hartford.
Wesleyan University in Middletown was awarded two grants totaling $45,000 to host and publish the works of various artists, from dance troupes and choreographers to poets.
Hartford’s HartBeat Ensemble received $10,000 to support a play about the American political climate of the late 1950s and early 1960s through the lens of two social activist artists.
