$2.6M sale-leaseback for Smith Bros.’ CT HQ

Smith Brothers Insurance has sold its Glastonbury headquarters in a $2.6 million sale-leaseback, the buyer says.

Mark Siegal, principal in buyer Capstone Properties LLC of Windsor, said Smith Bros., one of New England’s largest independent insurers, signed a long-term lease to stay in the 38-year-old, 29,000-square-foot building at 68 National Dr.

Capstone owns and operates nine other central Connecticut office properties, including its recent acquisition of an 86,000-square-foot, 15-year-old Glastonbury office building at 455 Winding Brook Drive. That building is fully tenanted, Siegal said.

Smith Brothers could not be immediately reached for comment.
