Glastonbury’s Town Plan and Zoning Commission has granted site plan approval for a proposed 266-unit apartment complex along Griswold and Main streets.
In a 4-2 vote on April 7, the commission approved plans for the project, known as Glastonbury Apartments, at 95 and 131 Griswold St. and 2938 Main St., according to meeting minutes.
The application was filed by Main St Group LLC, controlled by developer Domenic Carpionato, under Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-30g, the state’s affordable housing law.
Plans call for five apartment buildings ranging from three to four stories, totaling 266 rental units, along with a clubhouse, pool, sports court and dog park. The proposal also includes 453 parking spaces, including 44 garage spaces.
The 10.2-acre site is bordered by Route 2, commercial properties along Main Street and nearby residential uses. It currently contains a mix of vacant land and an office building slated for redevelopment.
