Congressman John B. Larson says firefighters and emergency responders in Torrington and Wethersfield are receiving more than $245,000 in federal grants for training and equipment.
The Torrington Fire Dept. will collect $175,500 and $70,200 will go to the Wethersfield Fire Dept., Larson said.
He said the funds are part of the federal Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for which all first responders, including those in Larson’s 1st District, are eligible to apply.
