The 2022 Hartford Boat Show has been canceled in response to concerns over rising COVID-19 infection rates.
The annual showcase, put on by the Connecticut Marine Trades Association, was supposed to be held Jan. 20-23 at Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville. There are no plans to reschedule this year’s event, organizers said, though plans are already in the works for a 2023 return.
“We are greatly disappointed to have had to make this decision,” Bob Petzold, committee chairperson for the 2022 show, said in a statement Tuesday. “However, with the rising number of COVID infections in the Northeast and across the nation, the safety of our exhibitors and the general public are what is most important right now.”
Everyone who bought tickets for the boat show online will be reimbursed for their payment, organizers said.
The Hartford Boat Show typically features leisure and fishing boats, brought in by dozens of dealers and exhibitors. It was previously held at the Connecticut Convention Center in downtown Hartford.
