Kathy Hokunson
Kathy Hokunson is the vice president of sales and marketing for Site-Seeker Inc. in Bloomfield. The regional Internet marketing firm specializing in SEO, SEM, Social Media Strategies and web development with a strong focus on the B2B and manufacturing arena.
She has 15 years of experience in sales, account development, client retention and marketing. In the industry, she has built a reputation for being a client advocate.
Hokunson started her sales career working for her family’s printing distributorship and in 1996 became an independent contractor with Thomas Publishing, representing the Western New England Regional Directory and ThomasNet.com for 12 years. While representing Thomas Publishing, she earned the president’s award four times and was awarded Platinum Club status as a top 10 new business producer and client retention expert.
She is a frequent speaker and lecturer on social media topics. She is working on a series of seminars throughout Connecticut for members of CONNSTEP
Andrea Obston
Andrea Obston has three decades of experience in public relations and marketing.
She founded Andrea Obston Marketing Communications in 1982 with a goal of offering mid-sized clients the kinds of marketing advantages that enable large corporations to gain a competitive edge. Since its inception, the firm has handled local and national accounts ranging from insurance products to publicity for an astronaut.
In 2005, she was named the outstanding Connecticut Woman Business Owner of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She was also honored by The Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce as the 1998 Small Business Leader of the year.
Before starting her own firm, she worked at a large advertising firm as a public relations consultant and was an internal marketing consultant for The Travelers Companies.
Obston is an adjunct professor in the public relations department of Quinnipiac University’s School of Communication.
