20-story, 395-unit apartment building debuts in Stamford

A 20-story apartment building with 395 units has opened on Stamford’s South End.

The 675,000-square-foot 18 Dock property was built by New York developer The Heyman Enterprise. Construction began in 2022 and will be completely finished next month, said Adam Popper, Heyman’s managing director and head of real estate.

“The vision to bring the highest quality of luxury living to Stamford has come to fruition,” he told the Hartford Business Journal. “It’s really wonderful to see the tenants enjoying it.”

Just two weeks after leasing began, 75 units are already occupied, and tours and tenant applications remain ongoing.

“We’re really thrilled with the activity and interest so far,” he said. “We’re off to a great start.

The building has two towers coming off a six-story base at 18 Dock St. It includes 32 studio apartments, 252 units with one bedroom, 76 with two bedrooms, 30 with three bedrooms and five duplex townhouses with two bedrooms each, Popper said.

Rents range from $2,396 for studios to $6,800 for three-bedroom apartments.

The building, which sits on 2.2 acres, has 20 affordable units administered by Stamford-based Charter Oak Communities.
