2 new businesses debut in West Hartford

Two new businesses in West Hartford are set to formally mark their openings.

Home for Good, a nonprofit thrift store, opened for business on Feb. 26 at 591 New Park Ave. The store, from which 100% of the profits will support the mission of Journey Home, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness throughout Greater Hartford, will officially mark its opening with a ribbon-cutting on March 19 at 1 p.m.

Home for Good features home furnishings and décor, dining items, art, photography, mirrors and more. Store hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store is actively seeking community volunteers and donations of gently used items.

In addition, a new interactive restaurant called Char-cu-te-rie officially opened on March 4, at 80 Memorial Road in Blue Back Square. The restaurant will hold a ribbon-cutting on March 26.

The restaurant features a specialized dining concept focused on curated cheese and meat boards. The facility is intended for small gatherings to large events, while offering specialty products for customers to purchase.

Char-cu-te-rie is open Sunday and Monday from noon to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
