🔒NY investor acquires Mansfield apartment complex near UConn for $14.15M

A 65-unit apartment complex on the outskirts of UConn’s Storrs campus has sold for $14.15 million. According to a deed recorded Tuesday, the Carriage House Townhomes, a 17-building apartment community on 23 acres at 183 Huntington Lodge Road in Mansfield, was acquired by a limited liability company headed by Douglas Smolev, co-founder of White Plains, New York-based SR Real Estate Partners. The Mansfield development includes 17 buildings completed in the late 1960s and recently updated. The seller was an affiliate of Stamford-based Collegiate Quarters Management LLC, a student housing owner, operator and developer. Collegiate Quarters acquired the property for $11.2 million in 2021. The acquisition was financed with a $9.5 million mortgage from M&T Bank, according to land records.
