Jason P. Magnotti has joined Bancnorth Investment Group Inc. as a financial advisor based in the TD Banknorth branch in Wallingford. Prior to joining Bancnorth Investment Group, he worked with David Lerner Associates in Darien. He holds designation as a Chartered Financial Planning Counselor.

Twelve Connecticut business executives were elected to four-year terms on the board of directors of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) at the association’s Oct. 29 annual meeting in Hartford. New Greater Hartford members include: J. Dennis Chalk, president and general manager, Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corp., East Granby; Denise G. Essenberg, assurance and business advisory services partner and office managing partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Hartford; Donna R. Day Pitney LLP has announced the expansion of its commercial litigation practice with the addition of Daniel E. Wenner. Based in Hartford, Wenner joins Day Pitney after four years in the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, where he was assigned to the business and securities fraud section. He will support the firm’s white collar crime and government investigations practice.

Advertising and public relations agency Lang/Durham recently added Michelle Leibovitz as senior account manager. Previously, Leibovitz was a senior account manager, vice president of sales for Visual Concepts Media of Windsor, where she spearheaded the company’s new business development efforts and managed accounts that included major national Fortune 500 companies.

Hospital of Central Connecticut surgeon Dr. Carlos Barba received a Latino de Oro 2008 Award on Nov. 8 for his contributions to Connecticut’s Hispanic Community in the health field. Barba, who specializes in bariatric (weight-loss) surgery, is the hospital’s bariatric surgery medical director and a designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence surgeon by the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.

Barnum Financial Group has hired Marc Toomey of Newington as a financial services representative in its Wethersfield office. Toomey holds a Series 6 securities registration and is licensed to sell life and health insurance in Connecticut. Prior to joining Barnum, Toomey held an internship position with Travelers. Marc lives in Newington.

Ingrid L. Moll has been elected to the membership of Motley Rice LLC in Hartford, where she is a trial and appellate attorney. Moll practices principally in the areas of consumer class actions and complex commercial litigation.

Premise Corp. has announced the addition of consulting services to its suite of patient flow solutions, led by Barbara Bryan, BSN, MBA, vice president of consulting services, in order to address the growing demand for optimal patient flow and greater efficiency in hospitals. With the addition of consulting services, Premise is now positioned to further help hospitals plan and facilitate the process redesign and culture change that is critical to patient flow optimization.

Steve Howard has joined the Colchester office of Prudential Connecticut Realty as a sales executive. Howard has a 22-year background as a customer service engineer and senior service engineer with Motorola Inc. His work with Motorola involved installing and repairing data communications equipment in the greater New England Region.

James Mahoney has been elected to the board of directors of the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. He is the managing partner of Mahoney Sabol & Company LLC. The hospital is a private, not-for-profit 228-bed rehabilitation long-term acute and chronic care hospital.

Northwestern Mutual announced that Robert A. Roth, CLU, ChFC was selected to receive the company’s Forum award. Roth, a financial representative with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in West Hartford, will be honored in recognition of his outstanding year of performance, serving the needs of customers throughout the region.

The trustees of Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington and Margaret Darby, president of the museum’s Board of Governors, have announced the appointment of Sue Sturtevant as the museum’s new executive director and CEO. Sturtevant will assume the post Jan. 12. She currently serves as the director of statewide partnerships for the Department of Cultural Affairs for the state of New Mexico.

Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck, P.C. in Hartford announced that four of its attorneys have been named to 2008 New England Super Lawyers in the practice specialty area of labor and employment law. The attorneys selected are Peter A. Janus, Richard D. O’Connor, Edward F. O’Donnell Jr., and Kenneth R. Plumb.

Integrity Graphics Inc. of Windsor has named Todd Peetros as account executive. He will be responsible for sales and the development of targeted markets. Prior to joining Integrity Graphics, Peetros was employed by John C. Otto in East Longmeadow, Mass., as a vice president, focusing on sales and sales development.

The Parkville Business Association of Hartford has appointed Elaine Rosales its executive director. Prior to this role, she had been working as an independent consultant in marketing strategies and translations and as a freelance writer for a local Hispanic newspaper.

Fox 61 WTIC-TV has added Erika Arias to its roster as anchor of the newly launched Fox 61 News at 11. Arias comes to Fox 61 from WFSB in Hartford where she was the weekend co-anchor and reporter for the past two years.

In addition, Ken Landy was named employee benefit specialist.
