Tucker Childs is the director of wealth planning and a portfolio manager at Bradley, Foster and Sargent. In his role as director, Childs guides his firm’s philosophy on wealth planning and identifies the planning issues most relevant to clients.
As a portfolio manager, he works with clients to incorporate an understanding of their needs with investment portfolios tailored to meet those needs. He is a chartered financial analyst and a certified financial planner.

What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?
I led the creation of my firm’s wealth planning program from the ground up. Over the last six years, I have been tasked with building consensus among our portfolio managers to develop a wealth planning offering that complements our approach to investment management and provides additional value to our clients.
How are you involved in the community?
I am a member of the board of trustees at Wheeler Health, where I serve on the finance and retirement committees. I am on the program committee for The Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. I have served as a volunteer, teaching financial literacy to elementary school students in Hartford.
Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty?

What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy exploring the world with my wife and two children. I like to stay active playing soccer, golf, biking and hiking.
Fun Fact
I was a guitarist with shoulder-length hair in a rock band in high school.
